This Black Onyx Pendant and Necklace is a sensational set of jewelry that's highly elegant and fashionable. This brilliant pendant has been finely hand made out of shimmering Sterling Silver and set with an alluring Black Onyx cabochon. The midnight black of the Onyx complements the white shine of the Sterling Silver nicely. The beaded necklace is hand strung with Black Onyx and Sterling Silver bench beads. Suspended from the 18" necklace, this fine Pendant is 3" long including the bail. Stamped Sterling and Signed by the Navajo artist Verna Blackgoat.

Black Onyx is a member of the chalcedony family (a form of quartz). Onyx is a black form of Agate and often features white or gray bands. It is ideal for carving, engraving, fashioning into beads, and decorating pottery. A versatile and durable stone, Onyx was also used to make tools.
